Want to mix a little Western charm into your holiday? The Old West Independence Day in Hailey (July 2-4, 2026) kicks off a fun-filled weekend with the Sawtooth Rangers Rodeo. This “Days of the Old West” rodeo, voted a fan favorite by the Idaho Cowboys Association, features all the bull riding, barrel racing, and mutton bustin’ fun you’ve been waiting for!

After the rodeo winds down, a fantastic small-town parade rolls down Hailey’s Main Street at noon. Parade goers can head on down to Hop Porter Park after the parade and enjoy free admission to Riverfest! Relax to the sounds of live music before fireworks light up the sky. It’s a day to treasure.

Labor Day weekend (Sept. 4-6, 2026) ushers in Wagon Days, the largest non-motorized parade in the Pacific Northwest, held annually in Ketchum. The parade features the historic Lewis Ore Wagons, which are magnificently pulled by a 20-mule team.
 

Fun fact: Once the Oregon Shoreline Railroad reached Ketchum in 1884, these “big hitch” wagons would carry as much as 18,000 pounds of ore to the Philadelphia Smelter in Ketchum—covering 12 to 14 miles per day!
 

This historic parade also has live music, delicious food, buggies, carts, stagecoaches, and more. It’s unlike anything else you’ve seen before!

Rebecca’s Private Idaho race (Sept. 9-12, 2026) is not for the faint of heart (or weak of leg). This long-haul gravel-grinding bike race, hosted by champion cyclist Rebecca Rusch, lets cyclists choose their own adventure over a multi-day event that squeezes a rest day and party into the fun.

Sun Valley on Ice features world-class figure skating and choreography in a lovely outdoor setting. Terrace seating includes a buffet and bar service, making this a unique evening experience for the whole family. 

Unwind with fly fishing lessons at Silver Creek Preserve or get your blood pumping by whitewater rafting down the Salmon River. Sun Valley also has more than 400 miles of mountain biking trails. It’s a Summer adventure to remember!
