We stayed in the owl cottage for a week. We liked the layout of the house, comfortable beds and being able to walk to the lake for a swim. We were disappointed that the shade over the sliding door leading to a deck on our upstairs bedroom was broken when we arrived making it very difficult to access the deck. We were told it couldn’t be fixed until after we checked out. We appreciated the Keurig coffee maker being replaced after we reported it was non functional when we arrived. I just wonder why these things are not checked when the cottage is cleaned between visitors. The Owl Cottage is the closest of all the buildings to Highway 89 and the sound from cars is very loud making it difficult to sleep with windows open or sit outside on any of the decks. We were hoping for a more peaceful setting. We did see a bear walk right through the front yard at 1:00 in the afternoon. It was a good reminder to keep downstairs windows and doors closed and locked. We enjoyed a week of hiking, kayaking, swimming, local concerts and Tahoe Adventure Park. There’s lots to do in the area.

Unfortunately this home was not properly cleaned upon arrival. Downstairs bathroom smelled dirty, and first floor floors were dirty.

Our family has been coming to Cedar Crest for over 10 years now and we can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting the West Shore. The cabins are always clean, comfortable and we love the accessibility to the Lake as well as the communal fire pit. We miss the beach chairs, towels and paddle boards that used to be available and hope they come back someday. Thanks for helping make our family vacation another memorable one.
