Golden Palms

Fall Rates Reduced! Unique Rental Home with Private Pool and Expansive Outdoor Living Space

As you enter the driveway, you will see that this house is not your usual beach house. The unique qualities begin with the palm-lined entrance and continue with the cypress house; reminiscent of the Florida cracker homes that added rooms and sections to the house as the family grew. Golden Palms gets its name from the golden retriever puppies and varieties of palm trees that the owner cultivates on-site. With the fluffy golden retrievers as your only neighbors, this home is absolutely perfect for dog lovers.

The outdoor living areas are phenomenal, beginning with a private heated pool, pool-side gazebo, hot tub, 108' wide dedicated beachfront lot with covered pergola and picnic table. There is plenty of parking for all of your motorized toys. Only 162 yards from house to beachfront pergola. The owner, living next door, allows tenants to use his dock for fishing and also his ramp for small fishing boats.

Your reservation includes $250 worth of beach gear. That's right! Rent a beach wagon, beach chairs, umbrellas, paddle boards, and more for your stay. Your $250 credit will go a long way!

In addition to the free Beach Gear, we have another gift for booking through us…free admission to Cape San Blas activities! Termed the Xplorie Program, our guests will receive one free adult admission ticket, per night stayed, to attractions like chartered fishing, golf and horseback riding on the beach. It’s our way of saying “thanks!”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best property I've ever rented! Visited Port St. Joe in October 2016. Knew nothing of the area or the property other than what we could find on the web. The Golden Palms home is absolutly the coolest house we've ever seen...rooms and alcoves going in every direction!!! Completely remodeled and updated...straight out of "Better Homes and Garden"! There was nothing we were in need of that was not furnished...even pool toys! The property, owned by the neatest gentleman who lives next door, would take much more than the week we were there to explore. The beach was far better than we could have hoped...so peacful and private. We'll certainly be going back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unique, Large and Nicely Appointed Visited in early May. Our whole family (6 adults and 2 children) really enjoyed the swimming pool, hot tub, the tiki hut at the private beach. The floor plan is unique and the entire house is highly appointed with architectural features, furnishings and accessories.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Perfect location in need of TLC We loved the area and our dogs had a blast on the beach; it was so nice to be on an uncrowded beautiful white sand beach. The access to the beach from the house was very close and it's even legal to have bonfires on the beach! The house is fairly accurately depicted. It is a bit unusual in layout, but worked for our 8 guests. You can tell from the photos that the house is older and a little quirky, but functional. The pool is also a little older, but a great size and nice & warm. The weather was unusually cold during our trip and we had a hard time keeping the house as warm as we would like and there weren't quite enough blankets to compensate, but I doubt they see low-mid 50s during the day very often. The house is dog friendly and as I mentioned our dogs LOVED being on the beach, but due to the owner/neighbor raising/breeding dogs we had some issues with his male getting out and being very aggressive with our dogs. We felt anxious as we walked our dogs in the yard or to the beach. The yard is also a work in progress and not at it's full potential and the back yard is unusable. We really enjoyed the restaurants and parks in the area and had a great time kayaking local canals and bike riding.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great location on Indian Pass We stayed at this property May 12-19, 2018. Very eccentric and funky layout. Love the Tiki huts down by the ocean. Very nice to be able to walk right across the main road to the beach. Big roomy kitchen but cooking pots and pans not adequate and pretty worn out. Not even a big pot to do a low country boil for 4 people. Frying pans are warped. Need some good knives for cooking and eating steaks. No griddle to do pancakes nor a waffle iron - would be nice to have. Enjoyed having the extra refrigerator in the 2nd kitchen for quick access from the pool. No wine glasses - bummer. Lots of light bulbs burned out. Light over basement bathroom sink was totally out and light in 2nd Honeymoon Bunk room appeared to be shorting out - did not work. Called management company to come fix - they did get the basement light fixed by the 3rd day but not the bunk room light. Could not use the back porch table and chairs to view the bay as the deck, table and chairs were covered with tree debris and leaves - should have been clean when we arrived. Hot tub created an overabundance of foam - didn't even use as it didn't seem clean - would have liked to use. Pool is adequate but not as clean as it should be. Gazebo by pool is very nice to use to get out of the sun from time to time. Obviously on well water and the sulfur smell as almost unbearable - no one even wanted to take a shower. Definitely did not want to use the water for cooking or making coffee so we ended up buying 14 gallons of fresh water at the Pig. We had a lot of rain late in the week and many windows leaked as well as the front door. It's a tired property. The owner operates a dog kennel next door and although a very nice elderly gentleman, it was kind of weird to have his dogs roaming around the property a lot and they bark a lot at night which several of our guests did not like. We would not recommend to friends or family and we will not stay here again. Very disappointed.
