What’s new in 2022?

The 2022 Sundance Film Festival will be a hybrid plan, offering both in-person films in Park City as well as online. The festival will return to its fill 11-day run in 2022, after cutting four days off the 2021 schedule due to the pandemic.
The plans for Sundance 2022 will be fluid and heavily influenced by the spread of the coronavirus in the months before the event.

Health and Safety Measures – Vaccinations Required
All all participants attending the 2022 Sundance Film Festival (or Festival-affiliated events) in person in Utah will be required to be fully vaccinated against the novel coronavirus. Closer to the Festival, additional information will be shared, including theater capacity and masking requirements.

Films:
According to the Sundance website, The 2022 Festival program will maintain a tight focus, with approximately 80 feature films. Films will premiere in the opening half of the Festival, which will be from Thursday, January 20, through Tuesday, January 25, 2022, with additional screenings to follow through the end of the Festival. Online premieres will follow the in-person premieres, using the custom-built online platform that was home to the 2021 festival. Awards will be announced on Friday, January 28, leading to a final weekend of award-winner screenings in person and online.

Where to Watch: All official feature film selections will play both in person and online. Screens are planned in Park City, Salt Lake City, and Sundance Mountain Resort. The theatres will be announced closer to the festival date.
