Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed We arrived on Monday, fished for three days and left on Friday. First, there was no hot water in my room until the last day. I realize the management was working to fix it, but it was frustrating to be told every day that the problem had been fixed and still not have hot water. Second, my final bill included charges I had not made and had to be redone. If I had not closely reviewed the bill, I would have paid for things I did not purchase. The last problem I encountered was the food at the breakfast buffet. It was always cold and I had to send it back to be reheated. Since we ate at 7:00 am when the restaurant opened, I would not expect cold food.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A few details-good and bad The staff and Kevin were very gracious and friendly and let us know they were there to meet our needs. However, the housekeeping staff let us down. Specifically, on checking in, we noticed the toilet was not clean and had hairs on it. The coffee maker still had the previous occupants dried out coffee filter and the mugs were not clean. During our stay, the mugs were never cleaned or was the coffee carafe cleaned. There were crumbs on a side table as well as sticky residue on a bedside table. This is the first time in a number of stays where we encountered these room cleanliness issues. The heater in the room wouldn't operate, regardless of the setting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great venue and place to stay We stayed at the South Fork Lodge for three nights for a wedding. We were in the Lodge Suites. The views were amazing, there was nothing like lying in bed watching the river rush by. Breakfast each morning was really great. I loved the buffet style and the food was excellent and plentiful. The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. The only reason I did not give a 5 star was because there was little or no hot water all three nights of our stay. I was told they were having issues with the boiler and couldn’t get a repairman out until the following week. Since our party had booked the entire lodge, many people were impacted by this. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fishing Trip to South Fork This was our 8th annual family fishing trip to the South Fork Lodge. Generally, things were as good as past years. A few items fell below our expectations and past experiences. The "lunches" that were provided for our days fishing on the river were disappointing and the "all inclusive" package was confusing since we ended up with some charges added from the bar and the restaurant. Much better in the past. Aside from that, service was still very good and lodge food was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fishing was excellent and the guides were as exceptional as always!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Getting Back to Nature The lodge is amazing. We have had brunch there dozens of time, stopped at the bar, and had our engagement photos on the grounds. We have never stayed there. It was a great stay but there are two things that I found odd. I love that there was no tv in the room but I wish I would have known that prior so we could have brought board games and other things to entertain ourselves. I know the hotel provided some but they were not suited for 2 player. The other issue was how cold our room was. My mother spent her entire career putting the South Fork Canyon under conservation easements for the BLM so I am all about saving the environment but we were pretty cold. Again, I love the lodge, loved the view, loved just enjoying the view.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Staff - Fabulous Shampoo! We have visited the South Fork Lodge twice; both stays in the Fall seasons of 2016 and 2017. The welcoming starts when the staff is expecting your arrival and somehow greet us by name as we walk up to the front desk... "Hello, you must be Mr & Mrs....", at both visits. (How do they know that?) The building is sturdy post and beam construction with the hallways adorned with nature themed art that is available for purchase. There is a comfortable round lounge with floor to ceiling windows and a telescope. The rooms are comfortable with furnishings upgraded from the generic hotel norm. Note that the only TVs are in the bar - which makes a great excuse to mingle and enjoy the fishing brag-fest. If you were hoping to find a coffee maker in your room, you will be pleased to also see a set of wine glasses and high ball tumblers provided. The room views are calming vistas of a wide bow in the Snake River with privacy screening on each side of your patio. Watch for swimming moose! And then there is that lovely shampoo and soap. I've never seen the brand before, and rarely use hotel products, but I would purchase it for home use. A tingly herbal confection that left my hair bouncing and behaving! It's all in the details.
