Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great home! First time in this home and we loved it. My family and I had to choose a different home this year due to the damage from hurricane Matthew the year prior. When we selected this home we were a little nervous, not knowing if it would suit our needs...This home was beautiful and was exactly what we needed! It could have received a five star rating if there had been curtains on the water side of the house (it was turtle season) and exterior door handles that didn't fall off when used. Very minor things that didn't affect the overall fantastic stay we had in this home!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice home We spent 10 days at Summer Salt and loved it. The house was clean and we loved the way that we could easily get to the beach. The kitchen and laundry room had everything we needed. Also, being in a gated community was a real bonus because it was quiet, and the people we did run into were very friendly. We had easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, and fresh sea food. We only noted one thing, it would be really nice to have curtains in the third floor bedroom. When we plan our next trip to Harbor Island, we will certainly keep his home in mind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice Looking in ad but dissappointed with house House had almost no blinds or curtains anywhere, even in Bathrooms and bedrooms ( see through glass) nobody would use Master bedroom bath for this reason, the 2 children bedrooms had mattress that felt like boxsprings, 3 people slept on air mattress on floor instead, I apologized to my family for the sleeping arrangements. The living room couch were worn and dirty, Kithen was nice lay out but poorly furnished, we found a box of rotten potatoes in the bottom kitchen drawer, previous tenant issue but housekeeping should have found. water damage in upper bedroom and smelled really moldy, the resort did send a guy to clean carpet and spray for mosquitos (very appreciated) but that is all I can say positive about the house. for a total over 4,000 I expected more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet Beach! Our family of 11 (5 children age 5 and under) stayed here June 15-22. We enjoyed the stay but I think that there are a few things that people who are bringing small children should know. 1- There are a LOT of stairs inside the house. 2-Check the beach each morning before you load them up to go out. One morning we found 30-40 jellyfish on the beach after we took them down. We decided to go to the pool instead. 3 - The mosquitos on the front side of the house are awful. I received 30 bites in about 5 minutes. Also the playground isn't as nice as pictured. One of the swings was broken and it really wasn't kept up. In spite of these things, we really had a great time and made a lot of memories. I just feel like you will have a better time if you go prepared.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful home We found the home beautiful with amazing views. We watched the dolphins swimming daily. There was some minor damage due to the hurricane. Cracks in walls etc. We visited in December and found some of the rooms too cold to use as year round rooms.....other rooms were too hot as we kept the heat turned up trying to warm up the cold rooms. New cutlery in the kitchen is needed, there are no steak knives. Only the master bed room had a TV. The teenage kids found the bunk mattresses uncomfortable. Extra blankets would have been welcomed. $47 per car fee would have been nice to know before booking. Ice machine from fridge leaking. No screens in windows...or curtains if we had wanted a breeze or privacy. None of these issues caused us too much distress. We had a great time and found the house and views beautiful. It's nice home for a short stay, family gathering, parris island graduation etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great house for extended family get together. We just got back from out visit at this house, which was towards the end of April. We came down for my niece's boot camp graduation at Parris Island. It was a great location, about 30 minutes to the base, quick drive to Beaufort, stores, pizza and whatever else we needed. We spent most of the time hanging at the house, with a couple trips out to see local sites (like Fort Fremont which was very cool!). For being on the more affordable end of the spectrum, this house was wonderful. It was larger than I expected, and right on the beach! The pictures show a walkway down to the beach, but it's super close. There were 11 of us who stayed there, and there was plenty of room. Everyone had a bed. I was very happy with the seating to eat. The kitchen has a counter with stools, a table with 4 chairs, there is a table with 6 chairs in the dining area, as well as seating on the screened in porch. We loved the huge screened in porch, we spent a lot of time out there. And the weather was so nice (80's and sunny everyday!!!), we had all the doors open to the screen porch to let in air. We liked watching the wild bunnies from the porch. We used the charcoal grill a couple of times, which was great to have. The house was pretty well stocked. We ate most of our meals there. It would be nice to have a electric griddle, we made pancakes one morning which took quite a while for 11 people using a frying pan. Loved having the washer and dryer, I did a load of beach towels mid week and then washed all of our clothes the night before we left so I didn't have tons of laundry when we got home. There were beach toys down in the garage that we used. It would be nice to have beach chairs and beach towels available. We flew in, so bringing beach chairs wasn't an option, and the beach towels took up a lot of room in our suitcases. The beach was awesome! We were the only ones on it most of the time. We walked up and down everyday finding shells, crabs and other treasures. Our kids played in the sand and we all swam everyday. Our neighbors fished from the beach and the kids enjoyed seeing all the creatures they caught (rays, small sharks, ect). At super low tide the sand did get a bit mucky, but that was only for a short time when the tide was dead low. And the outdoor shower helped a lot with rinsing off before going into the house. We used the pools a couple of times. Much larger than I was expecting. I love that they had a kiddie pool, my kids played in that one a lot. The attendant was very nice and would bring beach balls, dive sticks and other toys out for the kids to play with. One note, the sand flies can be bad, but bug spray worked really well on them. And if there was any breeze at all there weren't any bugs. Our booking experience was very good. I chatted on the website with people many times, and they always got me answers to my questions. Overall we had a great trip! We spent 6 days with family in the house. Went to Parris Island for Family Day and Graduation. Lots of fun had and memories made!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Summer Salt , great location, clean, great views I visited this home in August 2017, I was very nice, clean, and welcoming had great views, saw Dolphins swimmimng behind shrimp boat more than once everyday. Had enough room for together time or alone time for the family. Got to witness a group finding sea turtle nests and if they has hatched, they would catch them and witnessed them helping direct them to find their was to the ocean. The only negative to the house is, it does not offer much privacy from close houses as there were no blinds and the Mosquitos were the worst I have ever seen, we had bug spray for ourselves which helped slow them down but all of us left with several bits on us (mostly on arms. And legs about 20 bits each) we had a wonderful time at the beach the Mosquitos were not there the biggest area was around the garage area and the side of house near the heating but the screened porch area allowed us to enjoy outside sitting to watch and listen to the ocean neither of these would stop me from another stay but would maybe ask that the area be treated with something before arrival.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice layout, needs repairs and updates Downstairs bathroom needs serious attention. Also, one of the downstairs toilet does not have a door, or window coverings and faces straight in neighboring home - cannot be used at all. Kitchen needs to be stocked better as well.
