We enjoyed our stay, and the house met our needs nicely. The free kayak rental during our stay was a very nice perk. The only thing which prevented me from giving a score of 10 was a mixup regarding a second car pass which we had purchased, but which had not been left at the gate house for our guest. While this lack of communication between Natural Retreats and the gate house did create a brief period of frustration, the matter was quickly resolved after we notified Natural Retreats of the problem. We hope to stay with you again.

Nice community and a great house for our family of 3 plus 2 dogs. November was a perfect time to stay here- we loved starting and ending our days with a 3 minute walk to Public Access 3 boardwalk to the beach where our dogs could chase birds at wide open speed without another person/dog in sight! We kept them off the dunes, but it was comforting knowing we were outside of the turtle protection window just in case they did decide to run up on the dunes. The golf cart access was so nice for exploring the streets and going to the end of Harbor Dr. to watch sunsets. Loved watching all the bird activity in the rookery from the observation deck. The close proximity of Johnson Creek Tavern was a bonus, as was the ability to buy bait next door. Kitchen well stocked (but don't count on any condiments- of all things, we forgot sugar for coffee, and there was none provided).

They really do go above and beyond to provide you a wonderful vacation with several included perks with your rental (tickets for area attractions, notebook of suggestions for activities and restaurants and included a daily kayak rental). The rental was super clean, organized and well stocked with all you need. I highly recommend rentals through Natural Retreats. If you are bringing your dog, they even supply a bed for your furry friend. Easy check-in and check out process too!

Natural Retreats made the checking in and out process easy. Before we went to Harbor Island, I called with some questions about the parking pass and it was waiting for me when I got to the island. I felt like if I needed assistance from them, they would be there.

The perfect location! And pet friendly! There was also a dog bed under the master bed! Loved all the decks especially the screened in portion due to mosquitoes. Couldn't go wrong with this house and location!

Cleanliness of the bungalow, front porch to relax, had everything we needed. And the golf cart was a bonus!!!!

Nice place, great location. The thermostat did not operate the HVAC and heat properly. The house got down to 57 degrees on a couple of cooler days, and up to 80 on the warmer days.

I think NR does a great job of working with nice homes in special locations. We really enjoyed our experience in Harbor Island, loved the city of Beaufort and we really enjoyed the nice dog friendly home.

Service was very good. We had to change our booking twice due to moving and Covid and everyone was very helpful. Break Time as a property was ok but is in need of updating. Hope business gets back to normal for you soon!

I have been visiting Harbor Island on and off for more than 30 years. So I know it very well. Breaktime is the only two bedroom home on the island. All the other 2 bed/2 bath are condos. Other nice feautures of this home are the golf cart and screened in porch. The beds are comfortable and all the kitchen applicances work just fine. For some people, having a pet friendly home with a back yard is probably a big plus but that was NA to me. I noticed two reviews on VRBO before my scheduled arrival date and I emailed you and asked that the home be cleaned. The items mentioned in the reviews were still an issue when I checked in. I will send you pictures in a separate email as I am having issues transferring the pix from my phone to computer. B/c dear friends were visiting me at Breaktime, I packed cleaning supplies and spent several hours on my hands and knees cleaning baseboards in the living room and master bath and bedroom. However, I could not remove the black dust along the living rooms ceiling and my friend noticed them. So I explained the house situation, something that I was hoping not to do. All the baseboards, ceiling fans and kitchen tile grout were fifhy. I am questioning if the house was cleaned that well in the spring. Even it were clean in the spring, I should not have to rent a dirty home in late August. If the dirt was caused by dogs and cats, doesn't the pet deposit go towards extra cleaning? Or, if the home is not as clean in August as it is in April/May, then give me a reduced rate!!! We did not put anything in the bathroom vanities as they are yucky. Towels supplied were just ok.Usually home have extra nice, fluffy towels in a closet. We liked the sunroom as we like to watch the birds and gators.

We were there 2 years ago in 2017 & it was much better. This time the AC couldn’t handle 80 degree temps, probably because it looked like the filter hadn’t been changed in a year, & the Mgt co. changed only after I requested it. Several windows were so ‘warped’ that you could see daylight through the bottom so I had to put tape on them to keep the cool air in but the management company did nothing. I emailed one person and never got a response. The house could have been cleaner for example the floors were so dirty that after walking around barefoot for two minutes when we got there our feet were black. Too many bugs for us & not enough towels. Not sure but it looked like there was mold in the bottom of one of the kitchen cabinets. Probably won’t rent this house again...

we stayed a week in July. the location was great and the golf cart was good to take your chairs and cooler to the beach. the house needs a good cleaning but everything else was great. we will return next year.

Master bath was nice. The other was very small and cramped. The house was very clean and the decor was cozy, beachy, and welcoming. Kudos! We had a great time!

We had a great time at this home on harbor island in April. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Break Time for a little over a month in the winter of 2019. The setting is beautiful, a gorgeous beach, attractive homes, gated community, lots of herons, egrets, alligators to see on a daily basis. The biggest treat was the rookery that was a couple of streets down from our cottage where we would see hundreds of birds roosting for the evening.

Break Time was the break we needed! Dog friendly, comfortable bed, fluffy towels! The home is cozy and the kitchen has just about it everything you could want. Views from the deck are stunning. We were thrilled to see a gator leisurely swam by the place. Lots of varieties of birds. Harbor Island’s beach is beautiful. When the tide’s out it’s huge. Natural Retreats was great to work with. They get an A+ in customer service. Thank you Drew and Amanda.

We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach while staying in this home. The front porch was great for morning coffee and our dogs enjoyed the fresh air. The hammock and porch swing were great places to relax, The towels were big and fluffy. We appreciated the beach/pool towels and the dog towels. The home had everything you could need in the kitchen. The home was clean and comfortable.

This is a lovely small house. It is well equipped and has everything you need. Beautiful views of the marsh.

This is out 3rd stay in Break Time. It is a great fit for our family. VERY clean upon arrival! We loved the addition of the golf cart!

We had a great time and survived Tropical Storm Hermine to boot!
