Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice home After booking I called and left a voice mail then emailed once my phone call wasn't returned to ask about linens. Obviously this is not an oversight but lack of customer quality care which is the core of Natural Retreats business. Therefore we brought up complete set of linens which turned out to be unnecessary as the home did provide them to us. To this day NO one has bothered to contact me. We vacation 2 a year at this lake and never found this to happen to any other agents we dealt with

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Experience I have had good experiences with Natural Retreats, but this house is the exception. We rented two homes on Lake Winnipesaukee for a family reunion - this one, and one a short distance away that was not waterfront. Our plan was to stay mostly at the home on the water, but problems with this home caused us to spend most of our time at the other house. The biggest of many issues we had with the home was the dock space. The photo on Natural Retreats website shows a great dock that was perfect for our boat, but when we arrived, the owner decided to leave THEIR boat in that spot with no prior notice. What was left was a side of the dock that was NOT set up properly to dock boats, and facing all of the waves and traffic from July 4th weekend. As a result, our boat was damaged (see picture). In my opinion, it is very unprofessional to feature an open dock space on the website, and then have the owner leave their boat there. A second major issue was water in the finished basement, which is the main floor for recreation in the house. We were called by Natural Retreats the day before we arrived to let us know there was some dampness in the basement, and that the property manager had set up a dehumidifier and that it would go away "in a few days". In reality, the basement was just as damp on our last day as our first, and the kids room (with bunk beds) was just about uninhabitable. My nephew developed a bad rash, which I believe was due to the dampness in his room. The whole floor was musty, and parts of the carpet squishy. If this isn't addressed, there will be a big mold issue. While the location of the house is great, the overall quality of the home leaves much to be desired. A few of the things we experienced during our stay: * Downstairs bathroom door warped and not able to shut all the way (and when it does, very hard to open again) * Upstairs bathroom door lock broken * Upstairs bedroom door warped and not able to shut all the way * Downstairs bedroom has no light at all * Backdoor porch door screen mostly ripped out * Several missing or burned out bulbs * Upstairs bedroom missing curtains (everyone in that room up at 5:10am each day, due to sunrise) * Wi-fi modem inconsistent and needed to be reset 3-4 times per day Any one or two of these things would have been totally acceptable, but when they are all added up, it seems that this owner/property manager just didn't care about the renters' experience at this property. Their "welcome letter" was also mostly a list of things wrong with the house (see picture), many of which I would have liked to have known in advance. We called Natural Retreats several times about the boat and the dampness, and while I believe they tried to help, they were not able to. We had a more or less miserable week at this property, and I am thankful we rented two homes so that the week wasn't a total waste. If the owner fixes these problems, this could be a great property. But I would avoid it unless you confirm everything has been addressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful view from the deck! We visited for the July 4th week. The space accommodated three families very well, and the kitchen is a dream to work in. We spent most of our time on the large deck, where the lake, framed by white birch, gleamed in the distance.
