Working Together for a Good Cause
For more than 150 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs have been helping young people to reach their full potential and encourage healthy lifestyles, as well as academic achievement. Since being nationally recognized in 1931, the Boys & Girls Club of America has established over 4,000 affiliated organizations throughout the United States and are currently serving over 4 million children and teens from ages 6-18.
The Club offers its members after-school programs and summer programs to ensure that they have a safe, positive space to learn and grow, with the goal that all members will graduate from high school and develop plans for their future.

There are 6 locations in the Central Virginia region, ranging throughout Albemarle, Charlottesville, Madison, and Orange, and in the past year, 370 volunteers have donated over 9,500 hours to the Central Virginia Clubs.
The future of our community is important to us at Natural Retreats, and with our head office in Charlottesville, it was a clear choice that we partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Virginia to help with their fundraising efforts and assist in preparing for their annual 2016 Cycling Challenge in Crozet, Virginia on September 18.
This annual event is unique to the Virginia charters of the Boys & Girls Club. The day will begin at the starting line at the Old Trail Swim Club and will end with a celebration of music, a catered lunch, wine, beer, and a pool party!
Whether you’re a seasoned rider, or a beginner, there are a range of routes from 8 miles to 100 miles to choose from, promoting participation of all skill sets. In fact, many members of the Club ride in the Cycling Challenge every year. The Central Virginia Club charters have incorporated JV and Varsity riding teams to help teach the kids about riding safety and prepare them for the big Cycling Challenge in September.
But we can’t let the kids have all the fun! We are also encouraging our Natural Retreats team to register and ride in the Cycling Challenge, volunteer, and fundraise to help us reach our goal of $20,000 for the Boys & Girls Club.
The Natural Retreats family is very passionate about helping others and staying involved in our community, and we hope our efforts towards the Boys & Girls Club of Central Virginia will be a success.
Register to participate, donate to the Club, or even volunteer. Remember, there is always something you can do to help!
