The Storehouse opens for business at CairnGorm Mountain!

Natural Retreats CairnGorm Mountain are delighted to announce that The Storehouse is now well and truly open for business!

Since opening its doors only 4 weeks ago The Storehouse has already welcomed over 25,000 customers and sold over 13,000 hot drinks from our brand new Starbucks alone.

For the first time ever, visitors to CairnGorm Mountain can enjoy a Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino or a Chai Tea Latte whilst taking in the phenomenal views down to Loch Morlich from over 2,000ft. The Storehouse also boasts a variety of home-made dishes, daily specials and freshly made cakes and pastries made in our in-house bakery. With new options on the menu such as our famous smokey seafood platter it’s no surprise that the food keeps flying out of the kitchen!

“It’s great to see the flocks of people coming and going in our new Storehouse and Outfitters. In the mornings you can expect to see lots of young snowboarders, skiers and hill walkers coming in for a full Scottish breakfast, bacon roll or hot chocolate before a busy day on the slopes. At lunch time we welcome lots of Funicular Railway customers who pop in to take advantage of the new Starbucks coffee and pick up either a freshly made scone or the chefs special dish of the day. There is nowhere better to experience some of the best views in the world in a completely natural environment! I believe we have truly been able to create something special with our Storehouse and Outfitters and have something to offer everyone here at CairnGorm Mountain.” – Janette Jansson, General Manager at Natural Retreats CairnGorm Mountain.

The original concept for The Storehouse was born in John O’Groats where it completely transformed the previous offering. It was at John O’Groats that Executive Chef Hamish Reid was able to create many new and exciting dishes with a great selection of local Scottish suppliers such as Annie’s Bakery in Caithness. Annie’s bakery now supplies us with a totally unique panini exclusive to Natural Retreats - perhaps this is the reason that our customers have already gobbled up over 1,300 paninis between them. The Caithness Smokehouse have also created a smoked butter just for us.

The Storehouse Restaurant, which is based in level 2 of the Day Lodge offers a great meeting point for skiers, boarders, walkers, climbers and mountaineers. It is open daily for all mountain visitors and serves breakfast from 8am-10am, then a full menu from 10am-to close. The Storehouse can also be booked for private evening events for those that are wanting something a little special.
