It is those jaw-dropping locations in fact that have inspired the Natural Retreats Cornish collection, which prove to be the perfect resting points for fans of the below.

Poldark
With its captivating plot of passion and family dramas, 2015 has seen viewers across the country fall in love with the dramatic storylines of BBC’s Poldark. Natural Retreats Trewhiddle in South Cornwall boasts the perfect location for exploring Poldark’s native landscapes and lies not far from many of the iconic viewpoints you can spot in the programme.

7 minutes’ drive from the picturesque Natural Retreats Trewhiddle lies the charming coastal settlement of Charlestown. Famed for its collection of ships, original Grade II listed harbour and its traditional appearance, it was the natural choice for the director when filming Poldark’s historic ‘Truro’ scenes. 40 minutes North you can also find Bodmin Moor, the theatrical and imposing landscape that found itself home to many scenes featuring the cast on horseback, the exterior of Ross Poldark’s cottage and incredible rolling fields. Couple a tour of Poldark with a hearty picnic and a stop at the nearby beach of Pentewan Sands, and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect adventure!

After a day of exploring Ross and Demelza’s haunting ground, relax in the luxury surrounds of your Natural Retreats lodge in Trewhiddle, truly a home away from home with luxury furnishings, fully equipped kitchens and gorgeous outdoor spaces.

Doc Martin
Set in the fictional seaside village of Portwenn, the international ITV hit ‘Doc Martin’ is actually filmed in the quintessential seaside harbour of Port Isaac in North Cornwall. This traditional Cornish fishing village is brimming with charm and is a favourite holiday destination for many a knowledgeable traveller.

Guests staying at The Manor House, Sail Loft, 21 Silvershells or Trethoway in Port Isaac, can easily meander down the narrow streets and find themselves on the picture-perfect harbour front, dotted with restaurants and occasional views of film crews up on the cliffs. Our team recently spotted Martin Clunes and his cast-mates filming Series 7 at the fictional ‘Bert’s Restaurant’ up on the picturesque hills, and were fascinated by how close they came to the action!

When you’re not hunting down the hapless GP and his chums, Port Isaac is cram-packed full of other holiday delights. From quintessential fudge shops to surfing aficionados, and fresh fish restaurants to historic architecture, this village truly has something to offer everyone.
