5 Reasons To Fall In Love with 'Solan'

With each coastal hideaway in our Rock & North Cornwall collection boasting it's own distinct personality, we're taking a closer look at one of our favourite family escapes, and why you need to make sure it's top of your travel bucket list in 2017!

Discover Solan...

ONE | BEACHSIDE BLISS
You're less than 10 minutes gentle stroll from the powder-soft Polzeath Beach! Here your young explorers can splash amongst the waves, the more adventurous can hire a board and take on the surf (under the watchful eye of one of the many experienced surf schools found here) and those looking for utter relaxation can bask in the sunshine with the sand between their toes.

TWO | UNFORGETTABLE EATS
If you're keen to follow the Cornish foodie trail, there's no better place to start than Solan. Either stock up your glorious self-catering kitchen with sumptuous treats from the thriving local markets (the seafood here is to die for), grab a plump pasty from Polzeath and tuck in al-fresco in the Cornish sunshine, or treat your loved ones to a mouth-watering gastronomic experience in one of the many seafront eateries nestled along the North coast. Don't forget our complimentary welcome hamper that will be waiting for you on arrival, stuffed with fluffy scones, a crusty loaf and other local delicacies.

THREE | ACTIVITIES GALORE
Not only is Solan footsteps from the beach, a plethora of intimate waterfront restaurants, gorgeous boutiques and lively cafes, it is also on the doorstep of the North Cornish coast and all the adventures it has to offer. 10 minutes by car, guests can find themselves in the water sports haven of Rock, enjoying the epic views over the camel estuary to neighbouring Padstow. 15 minutes in the opposite direction, the picture-perfect, harbour-front village of Port Isaac can be found (more famously known as Port Wenn in the iconic Doc Martin series!). Newquay is a short jaunt south, and the world-famous tourist attractions of the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are approximately 40 minutes across country. There is so much to do in such a small radius, you'll be spoilt for choice when putting together your fun-filled itinerary!

FOUR | SPACE FOR ALL TO ENJOY
With 4 spacious bedrooms, Solan was made for multi-generational living. Bring the whole family (grandparents included) and enjoy space and privacy whilst all under the same roof, safe in the knowledge you have your own roomy sanctuary to return to when you require a little peace and quiet! The incredible top floor balcony is also the perfect spot for friends and family to come together to enjoy the beautiful views of Polzeath Bay, the iconic Cornish sunsets and a chilled bottle of wine.

FIVE | LUXURY FOR ALL SEASONS
Even on the rare rainy day, there's nowhere we'd rather be snuggled up than on the plush, oversized sofas of Solan, gazing out at the sea. Fully equipped with plenty of modern touches including flat-screen TV's, iPod docking station and Wi-Fi, there's plenty to keep your little ones entertained too. For the ultimate indulgence, nothing beats bunking up in the whisper-soft beds with a cup of tea in hand, enjoying the view from your private balcony.
