Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great ski in ski out location. Nice house. We loved this house. Only issue was it was advertised as having two King sized beds when it only had one. In natural retreats defense, they offered to move us but we had already unpacked our stuff and it would have been more of a hassle than it was worth and not as convenient of a ski in ski out place so we opted to stay. Also they didnt have ESPN so we couldnt watch ACC basketball and WiFi would use an upgrade. These are petty things but would’ve been nice. The house is great though and fireplace and hot tub and location are awesome. Set up of house and accommodation of natural retreats was great. I would rent again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome rental for ski vacation This is my third time in Big Sky, and second time renting a home on the Moonlight side of the resort. This is my favorite so far! The pictures are pretty representative of what you get. We were a group of 7 (3 adults and 4 kids from 9 to 15 years old). Plenty of room for us. The ski access is incredible. This is located on the Bootlegger trail. From Powder River you ski down Powder River (Blue), through the tunnel, make your second right and stay straight. The house is immediately after the second bridge on the right. The trail is literally 2 feet from the back door. They groom practically to your doorstep. As long as you get decent speed coming through the tunnel, you make it almost all the way without polling at all (might have to poll 10-20 feet at the very end before you go down the decline of the second bridge). For ski out, you head back to your right and head down to Powder River again just above the Iron Horse lift. Ski out might require 20 feet of polling. One minor issue is once on Powder River you have to traverse a bit along the boundary rope to the groomed part of the trail. I had to poll a few feet and kids had a lot of trouble the first day. I dont blame the house for this... I've seen videos where it's groomed. Not sure why it wasn't... but its not a big deal. Once at Iron Horse you can take that up and ski down to the Big Sky base or stay on the Moonlight side. Alternatively, instead of skiing the Big Sky side you can take Alpine Meadows (before Powder River) down to the Moonlight base which has the Darringer lift and more of a beginner area (or take Six Shooter back up-- which we avoid because it's cold). Anyway, ski access is awesome. Only place better might be The Summit-- but thats expensive and you wont have the space. I took some 360 degree video of the Ski In access... I haven't edited or posted it on YouTube yet, but will in a week or two. Search You Tube for 1 Shadow Ridge. Back to the house itself... place was clean and ready for our arrival. I bought (or shipped ahead of time) some spices and kitchen stuff. Kitchen was already well equipped. Had various spices, pots, pans, etc. Electric mixer looked like it was from the 60's and didn't work well unless you messed with the cord. Beds were comfortable. They had hotel soap and shampoo-- so bring your own if you are staying for more than a few days. Hot tub is large and nice. Grill was good, they had a spare propane tank. It would have been nice if they had a few board games (they had a weird block game, and I left a deck of cards). Some minor things... the pictures show a bunch of old TV's in the bedrooms... I figured they might have been old pictures... how could they still have TUBE TV's. They do. And the flatscreen tv in the living room is ancient as well. It's a ski trip and watching TV isn't the most important thing... but after a day on the slopes it is nice to chill on the couch and watch TV... the TV didn't have a HDCP-compliant HDMI port, so the movies I downloaded onto my iPad to watch while on the trip couldn't be played on the TV. Not a huge deal-- but something to be aware of. And of course, no modern electronics could be connected to the tube TV's either. All the rooms have DirecTV so it isnt the end of the world... but dont plan on watching Netflix or content you downloaded before arriving and connecting your device to a TV here. I'm already keeping an eye on plane tickets (by the way-- NEVER flying United again, but thats a different story.) And there is an extremely good chance I'll book this very same house again in 2019.
