The list of activities that you can embark on in Virginia Hot Springs is only limited by your own sense of adventure and how much stamina you have! Even those without a sporty nature can find heritage riches in the region that hark back to before the beginnings of the history of the United States and peaceful, natural surroundings in which to relax.

Family activities
What better opportunity could there be for parents to bond with their children than by spending time hiking through scenic forest and hill trails, biking across the Allegheny Mountains, or fishing and canoeing on the Jackson River? Fun, fitness and sporting pursuits in simply incredible environments.
Parks and pools
Virginia Hot Springs is so named because the region has several warm and hot natural pools in which to bathe. The Jefferson Pools, named after Thomas Jefferson, are supported by pool houses in which to change before relaxing in the invigorating waters. For a more varied and energetic experience, spend time in the Douthat State Park which has mountain bike trails, hiking paths, a boating and fishing lake, picnic shelters and plenty of wildlife to observe and photograph.
Sports and adventure
If swinging a nine iron is your thing, The Old Course, The Cascades Golf Course and The Lower Cascades Golf Course are all within driving distance of the Hot Springs retreat. Off the green and into the blue, with swimming opportunities at the Dominion Back Creek Recreational Area and the lake's beach at Douthat State Park. The teens in your family might appreciate the Bath County Skateboard Park on Panther Drive, and you can ride on wheels of a different size by taking your mountain bikes to the Bolar Mountain Recreational Area in Warm Springs to find panoramic views of Lake Moomaw and Gaithright Dam.
